You could say I am somewhat of an election-day baby.
32 years ago, I was born in the wake of the election of Jimmy Carter, who, though some would argue the value of his tenure in the Presidency, has arguably done more for social justice in his post-Presidential life than any other former U.S. President.
Today, on my 32nd birthday, I celebrate with President-Elect Barack Obama as American history begins a new chapter. Though I have kept politics out of my blog in the past and will do so in the future, I am taking a time-out to say that being a part of this day has been nothing short of amazing. Simply Amazing.
The exclamation point on the day: President-elect Obama's acceptance speech--a speech that will go down in history for it's eloquence, intellect, sincerity, thoughtfulness and concern, qualities that his Presidency promises to be as well.
May God keep him close as he faces likely more challenges than any other President in U.S. History.
Stay-tuned for recent happenings at the O'Neill house.

Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great day, and the "monies" Liv needed while I was talking to you on the phone was in fact to take you to lunch.
There are now 3 moments in history that I will always remember where I was when it happened (and no Jen they have nothing to do with sports)
1) The day the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded.
2) 9/11
3) Last night at 10:00pm
Hope you had a great bday, Jen!! And hope that all is well in your house (al beit it may be a bit crazy right now!!). Loved this post, it truly was an amazing night/something I will never forget. GOBAMA!!
Happy belated birthday!!!!
My husband and I were just talking about "where we were when..." in reference to the historic night we had on Tuesday. I came to the very sad realization that I was in the same place I always am for every historic event - with my a** firmly planted on the couch! Wow, it is one historic couch!!!
Happy Birthday to a truly, truly wonderful friend, a genuine human being, a strong woman and a devoted wife and mother.
I just got home from New Orleans this afternoon. I'm looking forward to our time together soon!
Love you, Jen!
A belated birthday to you as well.
