Yep, yesterday was our own Billy O'Neill's 36th birthday.
For a picutre of Bill with the girls, you'll have to come back later. I am at present physically not located near my dear Nikon. But it's a cute picture. So do come back.
Bill had to work. It was my day off, so I had to work too--with two girls who were full of 'tude' but thankfully had started behaving by the time Daddy came home so we could try to celebrate without sequential time-outs.
We went out to eat. We gift-opened. We sang "The Happy Birthday Song." We miraculously blew out candles without cinging any hair. We ate cake. All the good birthday stuff.
In honor of the big day, here is my top ten list of little-known things to love about Billy Bob:
10. People in his hometown of Sumner used to call him Billy Bob, the shortened, hillbilly version of his given name, William Robert.
9. He has a knack for memorizing phone numbers at the drop of a hat but can't recall if he's seen a movie 24 hours after we leave the theatre.
8. He has the most genuine way of engaging total strangers, something that is awe-inspiring to my introverted self.
7. Several nights per week, he falls alseep watching Sports Center and sleeps all night in the chair....no wonder why two curious questions have popped out of Camille's mouth repeatedly over the past year: "Do you want to watch the football movie?" and "Do you want to turn on the NBA?"
6. He does most of the laundry.
5. When I get stressed, he now automatically asks, "Jen, do you need to go scrapbooking this weekend?" Does this guy get it or what?
4. It is totally awesome to watch him with his family and mine. The baby of the family by nine years, he has outgrown his baby status and has wonderful relationships with all of his siblings. My family adores him.
3. He is extremely devoted to everything he does and everyone he loves. (Aaaawwww).
2. Though he misses his boy more than he lets on, he is a smashing girl daddy. Camille and Liv adore him. He's not afraid to be goofy with them and is the comic relief for our family.
1. He let Liv paint his toenails two nights ago. Only now he can't wear his sandals because he has pink toes and has no idea how to go about getting it off. Hmmm....the power I now hold!
Tune in later for birthday pictures.
