The proof is in the picture. Even though summer isn't officially here until closer to the end of this month. it is unofficially here. The sandals are drying on the porch. We had our first afternoon partaking in backyard swimsuit fun. As I kissed the girls goodnight, even after two baths, I could still smell the sweet smell of sunscreen on their skin.
And more than any other summer, we are going to enjoy our time outside. No glaucoma. Less light sensitivity. Hopefully no surgeries.
Camille fell in love with hunting for "buried treasure"in the sandbox---the treasure, of course, being her beloved magnet letters.
Livvy fell in love with transporting cups of sand to the wading pool and transporting cups of water to the sandbox until the two were entirely indistinguishable from one another.
Mommy fell in love with watching them both love the unofficial beginning of summer.
If only she could find a way to love trying to clean up all of the sand from the bathtub.
Oh, well. The fun is worth a little sand. Or a lot.

Jen,
I am humbled that you included me in your blog! LOVE the photo! Send me a copy when you have the time! I thought I was through crying until I read this tonight. I have pictures of Camille out already in the house - which says a lot, as there is mostly brown boxes as the decor right now! I'm trying to catch up with friends and family, but I am afraid it is slow. Thanks for the kind words, Jen. I love your family and miss you terribly!
Beth
